- Lake Oswego is seeking a Certified Veterinary Technician or
experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team. We are looking

catheter placementPreparing and restraining animals during
proceduresAnesthetic inductionAnesthetic monitoringAssisting in
surgerySuture cutaneous and subcutaneous tissuesApply bandages
and/or splintsWound careAbility to use a stethoscope and
otoscopeAdvising pet owners on proper care, etc.Duties (including
but not limited to):Demonstrate excellent relations with client/
pets in the waiting area and exam roomsExceed the client's
expectations of serviceCompassionate nursing care is the top
priority for all patientsHousekeeping/ maintenanceAbility to
perform a cursory examination of an animalAbility to recognize
potential patient issuesClearly communicate your findings to a
doctorRecord keepingFill prescription and dispense medications as
prescribed by the doctor, etc.Education and Physical
Requirements:College or college-equivalent education as required in
becoming a Registered Veterinary TechnicianDependable attendance is
requiredMust be able to lift 40 poundsMust be willing to work long
or irregular hours under pressure conditionsThe ability to walk,
bend, stand, squat, or reach constantly during a minimum 8-hour
