Position Title: Temporary K8 Science Teacher-
11/04/24-1/24/25
Location: Nestucca Valley School District
Reports To: Building Administrator
FLSA Status: Exempt
Salary: $263.43 per day
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Temporary position starting 11/04/2024, ending 1/24/2025. Assist
students in reaching their full potential for intellectual,
physical, emotional, social, and psychological development and
growth, and to assist in maintaining a safe and secure school
environment. Implement, supervise, and maintain a high-quality
learning environment for students within specific curriculum and
standards of the District.
QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Required:
- Required to hold an Oregon teaching license as set by the
Teacher Standards and Practices Commission for the State of
Oregon.
- Familiarity with state standards and curriculum
frameworks.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to exhibit professionalism and effective human
relations.
- Ability to effectively manage and supervise students and their
work.
- Ability to facilitate meetings and collaboration efforts with
staff and community. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Performs some or all of
the following tasks. Other duties may be assigned.
- Meets the standards of Competent and Ethical Performance as
outlined in Oregon Administrative Rules (OAR 584-020-000 to
584-020-045).
- Maintain current licenses and/or certificates required for the
position
- Create and model a respectful learning environment.
- Plan appropriate lessons and activities to meet students'
needs
- Use effective classroom management techniques.
- Use a variety of instructional techniques based upon sound
education theory, which are appropriate to students' needs.
- Assess student performance, interpret, and utilizes the results
of student performance assessment.
- Maintain accurate, complete and confidential records as
required by law and district policy and administrative
regulations.
- Establish and maintain open lines of communication with school
staff and with parents/guardians concerning academic and behavioral
progress of students.
- Implement modifications and accommodations for all students
with IEP's.
- Utilize technology as related to job responsibilities.
- Maintain and update current Grade Book and online
ParentVue.
- Reflect upon own teaching and performance and accept and
implement supervisory feedback to improve skills and services to
students.
- Attend and participate in building staff meetings, IEP
meetings, PLT's and district in-service meetings.
- Perform physical requirements unaided or with the assistance of
reasonable accommodation.
- Annually pass the District's required online training by the
District's assigned due date.
- Follow District protocol for reporting absences.
- Perform other duties as assigned. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Salary and work year to be according to the current negotiated
contract.

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with
provisions of Board policy.

- Frequent or prolonged standing, walking and sitting.

- Work may occasionally involve lifting/carrying objects weighing
