Job Description:
Schedule and supervise Team Members, oversee department flow,
and support Produce Team Leader and Associate Team Leader for
smooth operation. Provide courteous and efficient service to
customers and Team Members. Perform duties in accordance with team
and store Standard Operating Procedures. Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and delegate tasks to Produce Team Members.
- Train Team Members with Produce Trainer to build a
high-performance team.
- Assist in training new Team Members, utilizing learning
checklists and training materials.
- Maintain clean, well-stocked, and properly rotated cases and
shelves.
- Open and close department according to established
procedures.
- Ensure all necessary breaks are given.
- Communicate team concerns to the Team Leader and Associate Team
Leader.
- Set and achieve the highest standards of retail execution.
- Foster a positive environment of outstanding teamwork, mutual
respect, and exceptional morale.
- Maintain awareness of customer flows and needs and direct Team
Members as necessary.
- Select, train, develop, mentor, motivate, and counsel Team
Members.
- Provide timely, thorough, and thoughtful performance
evaluations.
- Communicate and model WFM vision and goals consistently.
Required Skills:
- Extensive knowledge of Produce team procedures and
policies.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, motivational, team building, and
customer relationship skills.
- Capable of teaching others in a positive and constructive
manner.
- Product knowledge.
- Advanced knowledge of regulatory and safety policies and
procedures.
- Proficient mathematical skills for assessing financial
performance and managing inventory.
- Demonstrated decision-making ability, leadership skills, and
ability to prioritize and delegate.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and operations-related
applications. Experience: 12+ months retail experience. Physical
Requirements:
- Lift up to 50 pounds.
- Standing/walking 6-8 hours in an 8-hour work day.
- Hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and
pulling.
- Work requires bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching.
- Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals.
- Exposure to temperatures: 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Ability to work in a wet and cold environment.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends,
and holidays as needed.
- Ability to use tools and equipment, including box cutters and
electric pallet jacks.
