Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Meat Cutter to join our team at Whole Foods Market. As a key member of our Meat department, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of meat products while providing exceptional customer service.Key Responsibilities

• Cutting and Preparation: You will be responsible for cutting, plattering, and merchandising a variety of meat products, including beef, pork, lamb, veal, and poultry.
• Specialty Meat Preparation: You will prepare specialty meat merchandise, such as sausage, oven-ready products, and cured meats.
• Quality Control: You will check product to ensure it meets WFM quality standards.
• Maintenance and Sampling: You will maintain the sampling program and monitor product to prevent spoilage.
• Team Support: You will mentor and support assigned Meat Cutter Trainees.
• Customer Service: You will provide excellent customer service, answer phones and pages promptly, and model suggestive selling techniques.
• Inventory Management: You will maximize sales potential by effectively merchandising and preparing products.
• Compliance: You will follow and ensure compliance with established procedures, including Weights and Measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices.Requirements
  • Working understanding of Meat team processes and procedures.
  • Excellent cutting skills with the ability to bread product down into sub-primal and retail cuts.
  • Extensive knowledge of different cuts and cooking techniques of meat and seafood.
  • Ability to visually examine products for quality and freshness.
  • Strong to excellent communication skills and willingness to work as part of a team.Physical Requirements
    • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
    • In an 8-hour work day: standing/walking 6-8 hours.
    • Hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling.
