Job Description:
Assists with scheduling and supervision of Team Members,
day-to-day department flow, and Prepared Foods displays. Supports
Prepared Foods Team Leader and Associate Team Leaders for smooth
team operation. Provides courteous, friendly, and efficient service
to customers and Team Members. Performed in accordance with team
and store Standard Operating Procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Supervises and delegates tasks to Prepared Foods Team
Members.
- Trains Team Members to build high-performance team and minimize
turnover.
- Assists in training of new Team Members, utilizing learning
checklists and training materials.
- Keeps all cases and shelves clean, well-stocked and properly
rotated.
- Opens and closes department according to established
procedures.
- Ensures all necessary breaks are given.
- Communicates team concerns to the Team Leader and Associate
Team Leader.
- Sets and achieves the highest standards of retail
execution.
- Fosters a positive environment of teamwork and exceptional
morale.
- Maintains awareness of customer flows and needs and directs
Team Members to satisfy and delight customers.
- Selects, trains, develops, and motivates Team Members to
sustain a high-performance team.
- Provides timely performance evaluations.
- Communicates and models WFM vision and goals.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Extensive knowledge of Prepared Foods team procedures and
policies.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, team building, and customer
relationship skills.
- Capable of teaching others in a positive manner.
- Product knowledge.
- Advanced knowledge of regulatory and safety policies.
- Proficient mathematical skills for assessing financial
performance and managing inventory.
- Decision-making ability, leadership skills, and
prioritization.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and operations-related
applications.
Desired Work Experiences:
- 12+ months retail experience.
Physical Requirements / Working Conditions:
- Lifts 50 pounds.
- Standing/walking 6-8 hours in an 8-hour workday.
- Hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and
pulling.
- Work requires bending, twisting, squatting and reaching.
- Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals and temperatures up
to 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Ability to work in wet and dry conditions.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends,
and holidays.
- Ability to use tools and equipment, including knives, box
cutters, and heavy machinery.
